Invisible Structures Company History

The ring concept of turf support was an original Australian concept bought by Bill and Vicki Bohnhoff of the USA from Paul Ritter of Western Australia in the late 1970's.

In mid 1994 Jack Droomer obtained an agreement for Plastenchnology Australia Pty. Ltd, later to become Invisible Structures Pty Ltd to manufacture and market the product range in Australasia.

An injection mould was manufactured in Moorabbin Victoria with local production commencing in November 1994.

The first Australian installation was in January 1995 with a 400m² student drop zone at Westbourne Grammar School, Melbourne.


A fabric bonding technique was introduced in 1998 which allowed local manufacture of Gravelpave², Draincore² and Slopetame². In 2000 the Rainstore³ water storage product line was introduced into Australia. Whilst in 2001 a new connection method that allowed positive connection along with the "Airfield" concept for sports field drainage and aeration was introduced. A total stormwater management system is now available.

Jack Droomer Managing Director of Invisible Structures Pty Ltd started in Civil Engineering project management in 1967 in Capetown, South Africa. He specialised in major railway earthwork projects such as road over rail bridge works. Settling in Australia in 1972 he began working with Lewis Construction and Mainline Contractors in Melbourne before purchasing a broad-acre farm west of Melbourne.

His interest in environmental issues, particularly water management led him to establish Plastenchnology in 1994 that later became Invisible Structures Pty Ltd Under Jack Droomer's direction Invisible Structures provides Total Storm Water Management Solutions.Invisible Structures Pty Ltd Logo
